Walgreens Provides Quality At Lower Prices (Giveaway!)

I don't know about you, but my budget keeps getting stretched thinner and thinner every month. With gas prices higher, I've noticed that nearly everything else has gone up in price as well. Trying to decide where to make cuts in the budget is a hard and painful process for me.

One trick I always use to save money, however, is buying store brand products. Store brands are often cheaper than the name brands, and certain store brands offer the same or better quality than some of the name brands they compete against. I'm picky about my store brands, though - some are better than others.

Walgreens is one store where I never hesitate to reach for their brand of health and wellness products, whether it's pain relief, cold medicine, first aid, or even vitamins. I've always been impressed with the quality and thrilled at the money I save over name brand products.

On my most recent trip to Walgreens, I stocked up some of the items we go through quickly in our house over the summer: sunscreen, bandages, and antiseptic solution.

I love the Walgreens brand hydrogen peroxide wipes - so much easier than trying to find a gauze pad to pour the peroxide on when one of my kids has a scrape. I've never seen the wipes available in other brands - bravo to Walgreens for such a clever design!

Sunscreen is a must-have in our house. I'm very fair skinned, and my older daughter inherited my complexion. I like the spray-on sunscreens for ease-of-use, but I hate how expensive they are. I picked up this Walgreens spray-on sunscreen for $2.50 less than the comparable brand name one, and it did a great job of keeping our skin protected during my daughter's soccer practice over the weekend. I saved enough money that I bought a tube of the sunscreen lotion for my face as well.

As for the bandages: as much as my children love the character-themed bandages, I have to admit that they never seem to stay on well during the day. The kids sweat, they move a lot and loosen up the bandage, and by the end of the day the cut or scrape is always missing its cover. These bandages, however, don't come off, and that's why I love them. Unless my kids are picking at them all day (and they have to pick a lot thanks to the strong adhesive on the bandage), I know any boo-boo will be covered until I'm ready to take it off. And taking them off is amazingly painless, too. (I should know - I've got one on right now thanks to an ingrown hair.)

If you haven't yet tried them, I recommend you try Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness products.  Visit the site for more information.

And if saving money isn't enough, purchases of every Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Product supports bringing preventive wellness services to local communities through the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™.

The Way to Well Fund™ will provide free preventive health tests as well as other health and wellness services and education to local communities. Some of those services will include preventive health tests through the National Urban League Health & Wellness Tour and vouchers redeemable in select stores. Walgreens will contribute up to $3 million annually to the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™.

Not only do I get my monthly prescription from Walgreens, but I've used their bandaids, ibuprofin, anti-itch creams, and, yes, even recently had occasion to need their athlete's foot cream (yuck!)--all work great! $100 from Walgreens would be great!

I go through a lot of first-aid supplies. I tend to get quite a few scrapes and splinters through my line of work, and while I can use the company med kit to patch myself up while I'm there, I need supplies at home when I switch out bandages. Stocking up an at-home med kit with Walgreens products would be great!

I love the Walgreen's brand of Bio Oil. It's wonderful for dry skin and I use it constantly...under my eyes at night, on my feet and always on my hands and cuticles. It's much less expensive than the brand name and is great!

I would LOVE to win a $100 gift card ~ I shop at Walgreen's all the time.

Having three children, and living on a SUPER tight budget has put me on the same path of "trying generic brands" that you mentioned above. We have allergies to aspirin, and everything outside so being able to purchase everything, from medication for before to stuff for sunburns after (we are so pale that even with sunblock we burn if we aren't careful), at sometimes almost half of what the name brands are is really a big help.
Plus if we are on the way to a park, we can grab snacks and sunglasses and everything else we need for the trip that scatter-brained Mommy forgets! It really is a well rounded store, and has gotten us out of some jams more than once!

I buy store brands quite often to save money! I find that in most cases the products are just as good if not better than the national brands! We could really use some new items to stock our medecine cabinet, so we would probably put this towards ibuprofin, first aid items, baby pain reliever, and cold meds. Thanks so much for the chance to win!

Band-Aids that stick well are so hard to find! I love Walgreen's and their beauty products and great selection! And I must confess, I pick up candy whenever I go ;)

I get my prescriptions filled at walgreens, and I often buy their generic meds. I'll have to try their bandages!

I already have the Walgreen's sheet spray-on sunscreen. And there's a Walgreen's just 3 miles from my house, so if I really want to save I can ride my bike there *and* buy the Walgreen's brands. :)

I love Walgreen's infant tylenol. It works great, and it often goes on sale as B1G1, so we save so much by buying it!

I buy so many Walgreen’s items like vitamins, sunscreen, tooth brushes and toothpaste, diapers, and on and on. Plus I pick up prescriptions while I am shopping.

I would stockup on Ibuprofen. We go through alot of that around my house.

$100 wouldn't last long for me...but I would get the sunscreen that you can spray on wet bodies, some anti-frizz hair solution, some new facial cleansers and creams, and probably a toy from the toy aisle for my son.
