Walgreens Provides Quality At Lower Prices (Giveaway!)

I don't know about you, but my budget keeps getting stretched thinner and thinner every month. With gas prices higher, I've noticed that nearly everything else has gone up in price as well. Trying to decide where to make cuts in the budget is a hard and painful process for me.

One trick I always use to save money, however, is buying store brand products. Store brands are often cheaper than the name brands, and certain store brands offer the same or better quality than some of the name brands they compete against. I'm picky about my store brands, though - some are better than others.

Walgreens is one store where I never hesitate to reach for their brand of health and wellness products, whether it's pain relief, cold medicine, first aid, or even vitamins. I've always been impressed with the quality and thrilled at the money I save over name brand products.

On my most recent trip to Walgreens, I stocked up some of the items we go through quickly in our house over the summer: sunscreen, bandages, and antiseptic solution.

I love the Walgreens brand hydrogen peroxide wipes - so much easier than trying to find a gauze pad to pour the peroxide on when one of my kids has a scrape. I've never seen the wipes available in other brands - bravo to Walgreens for such a clever design!

Sunscreen is a must-have in our house. I'm very fair skinned, and my older daughter inherited my complexion. I like the spray-on sunscreens for ease-of-use, but I hate how expensive they are. I picked up this Walgreens spray-on sunscreen for $2.50 less than the comparable brand name one, and it did a great job of keeping our skin protected during my daughter's soccer practice over the weekend. I saved enough money that I bought a tube of the sunscreen lotion for my face as well.

As for the bandages: as much as my children love the character-themed bandages, I have to admit that they never seem to stay on well during the day. The kids sweat, they move a lot and loosen up the bandage, and by the end of the day the cut or scrape is always missing its cover. These bandages, however, don't come off, and that's why I love them. Unless my kids are picking at them all day (and they have to pick a lot thanks to the strong adhesive on the bandage), I know any boo-boo will be covered until I'm ready to take it off. And taking them off is amazingly painless, too. (I should know - I've got one on right now thanks to an ingrown hair.)

If you haven't yet tried them, I recommend you try Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness products.  Visit the site for more information.

And if saving money isn't enough, purchases of every Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Product supports bringing preventive wellness services to local communities through the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™.

The Way to Well Fund™ will provide free preventive health tests as well as other health and wellness services and education to local communities. Some of those services will include preventive health tests through the National Urban League Health & Wellness Tour and vouchers redeemable in select stores. Walgreens will contribute up to $3 million annually to the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™.
